Juventus vs Genoa predictions
After painful back-to-back defeats at home to Atalanta and away to Fiorentina, Juventus sacked under-fire Thiago Motta from his head coach role in the recent international break.
The writing had been on the wall for Motta after the 4-0 loss at home to Atalanta on Matchday 28.
Although it was only the Old Lady’s second Serie A defeat of the season, it severely tested the patience of the Juve hierarchy, who were already frustrated with the team’s 13 draws under the guidance of Motta.
In the aftermath of the Atalanta defeat, rumours circulated that another defeat away to the out of sorts Fiorentina the following Sunday would signal the end of Motta.
If the Juve players wanted to make a statement and support their boss, they failed to do so. Their performance was anything but that of a team playing for their head coach.
Juve slumped to a lethargic 3-0 defeat at Fiorentina. They had just two shots on target, which just about summed up Motta’s reign, and the 42-year-old was duly sacked and replaced by Igor Tudor.
Tudor will inherit a team sitting fifth in Serie A with 52 points from 29 matches. The Old Lady are 12 points behind leaders Inter Milan, but they start the matchday just one point behind Bologna in fourth.
Qualifying for the Champions League will be Tudor’s remit. And his first task will be to stop the rot against Patrick Veira’s Genoa.
Like Tudor, Patrick Veira also landed his current role in the middle of an international break. Veira took over the role of Genoa head coach from the sacked Alberto Gilardino in November.
Rossoblu were 17th in the table with one win in their previous ten when Veira took charge. They are now 12th in the table with 35 points, 13 clear of the relegation zone.
Veira’s team will come into the match in decent form. A 1-0 defeat to Inter on Matchday 26 is their only defeat in their last six. They warmed up for Juve by beating Leece 2-1 in their most recent outing. Two goals from Fabio Miretti gave them the three points on Matchday 29.
Juventus vs Genoa betting tips
Saturday’s home match at the Allianz Stadium looks like a great opportunity for Igor Tudor to get his tenure as Juventus head coach off to a winning start. Our Juve vs Genoa match betting tips are below:
Juventus to win and under 3.5 goals
Juventus may have conceded seven goals in two matches, but four came at home against Atalanta who have been in great form on the road.
At the Allianz Stadium this season, Juve has only conceded 14 goals in 15 matches, with eight of those matches ending with clean sheets for the Old Lady.

Furthermore, Juve has only scored 27 times, and they have scored four goals once at home. We expect Juve to be more attacking under Igor Tudor, but we can still see them retaining their defensive unity.
A win 2-0 or 3-0 win for the hosts looks on the cards.
⚽ Back Juve to win and under 3.5 goals at 19/20 with Tote ⚽
Juventus to score over 1.5 goals
Juve has scored 17 goals in their last eight home matches.
That includes the 1-0 win over Inter on Matchday 25 and their shutout in the 4-0 loss to Atalanta on Matchday 28. Those two fixtures were the only two home matches in the eight game run that Juve didn’t score a minimum of two goals.
Igor Tudor will no doubt have a clear remit. Yes, his number one target is to get Juve into the Champions League places. But he will also want to get his team playing attacking football again, scoring goals, and winning games in style.
Too many Juve matches have been stale draws. We expect to see a more attack-minded vibrant Juventus under Tudor. This will be the best way to get the fans back on side, and we see this starting against Genoa.
⚽ Back Juve to score two or more goals at 4/5 with bet365 ⚽
Randal Kolo Muani to score anytime
After a bright start to life in Turin, the goals have dried up for Randal Kolo Muani in recent weeks.
The on-loan PSG striker started with five goals in his first three Serie A matches, but he has now gone five matches without a goal, and four without an assist.
Igor Tudor will know how important it is to get his strikers scoring again.
He needs goals to galvanise the team and get the crowd going, so I have no doubt that Tudor will be playing a system that suits his strikers and gives them the best chance of finding the back of the net.
Randal Kolo Muani is 4/1 to score first and last. In a game that could be short on goals, either could be a good value bet. We are backing him to score anytime at 6/4.
