Doncaster Rovers 2-0 Forest Green Rovers

Doncaster Rovers collected a third successive league triumph as they saw off struggling Forest Green Rovers at the Eco-Power Stadium.

A Luke Molyneux strike and a Richard Keogh own goal helped the hosts continue their impressive recent run and compound the relegation fears of their opponents.

Rovers dominated possession in the first half but struggled to convert it into clear-cut chances.

Owen Bailey headed wide from a great position at the back post as he met a James Maxwell cross while Joe Ironside nodded straight at Forest Green keeper Vicente Reyes, with Hakeeb Adelakun also drawing a save from the Norwich City loanee.

The hosts broke the deadlock after 62 minutes when Molyneux pounced on a loose ball and calmly finished from 10 yards.

Although Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill threw on plenty of attacking options, the visitors struggled to impose themselves on the game.

And Doncaster made sure of the win four minutes from time when Keogh turned into his own net as he attempted to block a cross from Molyneux.

Let's hope that seals it for FG - once they're gone from the league hopefully the vegan will disappear and the proper football fans can have their club back.

Forest Green manager Steve Cotterill in his post-match interview looked more depressed than a death row prisoner in the USA who had just received notification of his execution date. Little wonder with FGR's next five games being against teams who currently fill the division's top five places.

Easy win against a poor team, but you can't blame the players, they did what they had to. Still a couple of players short to mount a challenge next season. Grant must be feeling good about us now.
We still need a player who can create but l am sure that will be done by next season.

The league is still there to remain in. Colchester can still be caught (rather it’d be Grimsby but there you go). Come on Rovers one last push could be enough!
