Hull City ahead of Millwall, Charlton Athletic and Luton Town in race for Liverpool midfielder

Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane is set to make a move to the Championship on loan.

The 20-year-old is a man in-demand, according to a report by Goal.

The likes of Hull City, Charlton Athletic, Millwall, Luton Town and Brentford have all been credited with an interest in the highly-rated midfielder.

Kane, who has been training and playing for Liverpool’s Under-23’s over the past week or so, is expected to leave the Reds on loan again for next season to gain some more first-team experience. A departure is likely to happen this week.

Hull are believed to be leading the race to sign him based on Kane’s relationship with Grant McCann having played for him on loan at Doncaster Rovers last season.

He made 49 appearances for the Yorkshire side in all competitions in the last campaign and chipped in with seven goals to help Donny get into the League One Play-Offs.

Kane was linked with Hull before McCann took over from Nigel Adkins last month and that is a deal that could happen for the Tigers now.

The Bristol-born midfielder started his career at Bristol City before moving to Liverpool in 2015. He represented England at Under-17 level as a youngster but is yet to make a first team appearance for the Reds.

Hull will be keen to bat away interest from their Championship rivals and land Kane’s signature this week.
